With the rapid development of automotive industry, the amount of waste wire has increased dramatically. It is a significant problem that is resolved as possible as early to recycle waste wire. The recycling waste wire can do less harm to the environment.At present, the material property and applied technology of rubber modified asphalt concrete are studied and developed widely at home and abroad, but the study on rubcrete is only at the beginning stage in China. In this paper, the strength of reference cement concrete is C35 and C50. And different kinds of waste tire with different particle diameter are adopted to replace coarse aggregate or fine aggregate. Many groups of rubcrete specimens are manufactured in different replaced volume percentage. A series of tests including concrete workability and mechanical property and so on are done respectively.The results of rubcrete workability tests show that slumps have the tendency of decrease with the increase of rubber in whole, but the change is iterative because of shape of rubber,replaced percent and alveoli produced in concrete. The mechanical property test results of rubcrete indicate that at the same curing age, the compressive strength,split tension strength,axial compressive strength,flexural strength and elastic modulus of rubcrete decrease with the increase of rubber. And the amount of decrease of rubcrete crumb rubber group is maximum in the condition of seventy percent, the compressive strength is equal to 15.9 percent of reference cement concrete. But rubber amends destruction form of rubcrete in maxmium load, and the toughness and deformation ability are much higher than reference cement concrete. The results of rubcrete unit density tests show that the unit density decreases with the increase of replaced percentage. And the amount of decrease of rubcrete crumb rubber group is maximum and equal to 19.35 percent of reference cement concrete in the condition of seventy percent; the amount of decrease of the first rubcrete rubber particle group is equal to 17.2 percent of reference cement concrete.Results of tests show that the NaOH surface treatment enhances the rubber-matrix adhesion, has little effect on compressive strength, but amends destruction form of rubcrete in maximum load. And fatigue cracks are little and invisible on the surface of rubcrete with high rubber content, rubcrete is similar to elastic concrete.Based on the results of tests, the feasibility of rubcrete applied to cement concrete pavement and cement concrete bridge deck pavement is discussed. If rubcrete is improved on design of mixing ratio and construction, rubcrete can meet the demand of engineering projects completely. The application will make waste wire recycled harmlessly. And material property of rubcrete is used to bring remarkable economical benefits and social benefits.
