Li-ion batteries are used in lot' s of fields because of its advantage, but its exothermic question is a problem that must be cared. It not only can influence the proformance of Li-ion batteries, but also can bring safety problems. In this paper Li-ion batteries' thermal field in confined battery module is analyzed using ANSYS, its exothermic question is researched .In this paper, Li-ion batteries are introduced first including: characteristic, class, principium, material and exothermic mechanism, besides Li-ion batteries' mathematical model of heat is established based on heat-transmit theory. Second a single Li-ion battery' s thermal is analyzed using ANSYS, and this method' s veracity is validated. Third boundary condition of battery module is calculated according to the working condition of Li-ion batteries, FEM model is established, rectangular and cylindrical Li-ion batteries' transient thermal field is calculated , analyzed and compared, how diffent speek of underwater-aircraft influence Li-ion batteries' thermal field is analyzed. Last advice that can be used to reduce Li-ion batteries' thermal is proposed.Through applying the FEM software, method and characteristic of ANSYS used in complicated question are searched in this paper. The paper also offers useful reference to solve the Li-ion batteries' exothermic question when used.
