Human has maintained rapid development of science and technology in the currentsociety. Be restricted by the energy crisis, human need to develop new energy constantly.The lithium-ion battery is used widely as an important source of energy in the field ofelectronic communications and the field of transportation and so on. It plays a veryimportant role and has a broad application prospects. The lithium-ion battery has manyadvantages, such as high capacity, long life, and no pollution. However, However, in useprocess, the lithium-ion battery have thermal safety problems,which has prevented theirwide spread usage in our society.The charging current is too large or violent impact and extrusion is the main reasonthat causes the thermal runaway and even fire and explosion of the lithium ion battery.Therefore, the analysis of the thermal effect of the lithium ions, the establishment of thesecurity model of the lithium ion battery thermal, the research of temperaturedistribution and variation of the battery in charge-discharge process is very meaningfulto solve its thermal security problems after predicting and assessing lithium ionbattery’s safety and reliability.In this paper, in the first,I introduced the trend of the development of thelithium-ion battery, as well as some problems in the application. Especially I made someanalysis of heating problems and safety hazard caused by abusing the battery. Then,Study and learn the classification, characteristics, operational principle and constituentmaterials of the lithium-ion battery. Then the heating mechanism of the lithium-ionbattery was researched, which provides a theoretical basis for the temperature analysisof lithium-ion battery.Then combined with the classical theory of heat transfer, combined with theknowledge of the finite element, select the appropriate method of thermal analysis,based on the actual application process, abstract, regularize and formulate heatingproblems and working process of the lithium-ion battery. Build a generality Li-ionbattery thermal mathematical model, which of course is the result of appropriate assumptions and predilection. With ANSYS analysis of temperature field of singlelithium-ion battery in one of the two common shapes, Discussed the influence ofdistribution of the temperature filed in different environment and different dischargerate situations. And use of the experimental method, accuracy verification of the resultwas made. Then,I made some analysis of defective lithium-ion battery,then researchedlithium-ion battery thermal safety problems. And put forward my own ideas on how tocontrol the safety issues of heating problems in the process of battery using on the basisof the analysis.Through the application of ANSYS initial grasp the method and characteristicsused to solve complex problems. Analysis results obtained has a certain reference valuein researching the thermal safety of lithium-ion batteries.
