The Fujian Type Buddhist Architecture is an important ancient pattern in Mandarin Type Buddhist Architecture. Big achievements in this field have already been obtained. But the special research on its space and structure still treats to be further deepered and perfced. This thesis is exactly regarding this as the object,an overall and systematic research on space and structure of Fujian Type Buddhist Architecture is carried out, followed by its from constitution of space and structure.The background of Fujian Type Buddhist and the art of its architecture is taken into investigation first. This thesis sorts out the developmental hisory of space in Pagoda and Temple—two kinds of buddhist architecture respectively. At the same time, analyses the cultural exchanges between Fujian and Hans, Fujian and other different nations, and the course of pursuing regionality,common customs and humanity.Secondly, dealing with emphasis on the sculpture arrangement and devotee's behavior which are two restricted factors, the thesis divided space of Fujian Type Buddhist Architecture into three-basis-model: crossing pattern, gathering pattern and vertical connection pattern by comparing and analyzing large quantity of real examples. Meanwhile, The dissertation analysis the structural type of Fujian Buddhist Architecture and Combine three kinds of basic mode space analysis the structural form of Fujian Buddhist Architecture.Finally, combine achievement on other new type of Buddhist Architecture, The dissertation propose Fujian Buddhist Architecture innovate from technology and material. And put forward some views that will be developed in the future to Fujian Buddhist Architecture.This thesis inerprets the Fujian Type Buddhist, bringing the related subject into the study on architecture space and structure, such as systematics. This is an essential to the traditional architecture culture in deep-structure and is suitable for modern architecture design in Fujian.
