Visualization in city 3D scene is the core technique of Digital-City. 3D Geographical Information System has become a hotspot in research development and application of GIS at present. Visualization in city 3D scene realizes information's query and analysis in 3D city scene, based on which it not only provides vision taste for user, make user have geist cognition for city construction, but also make decision-maker, designer and user have more lifelike, impersonal and rational cognition for status in quo of layout and blueprint of design. So it is significant for the research of city sustainable development because visualization in city 3D scene widen the view of city planner, designer and manager, made urban planning and base establishment's design are more reasonable and scientific.Combined with the concerned item, the 3D reconstruction of city model, visualization in city 3D scene and its applications in urban planning were researched in this paper, example by the project of landscape.There are five chapters all together in the thesis. The first chapter is preface, which introduces the problem the thesis will solve, gives the answer for the question why the thesis will study in this topic and reviews the current development of 3D visualization and also illustrates briefly the aim and methodology of this systematic research. The second chapter puts forward the methods of orient-object's 3D special data by the particular subdivision in spatial entities. The third chapter demonstrates the crucial problems and technologies the thesis must solve during the capture of 3D data. The forth chapter focuses on the technology of 3D modeling, those crucial technologies are the 3D DEM ,the building modeling technology of city buildings, the plant and other interrelated entities. In chapter five, the research results are concluded. Furthermore, future studies are discussed, too.Research result of experiment shows that different model has different characteristic, so the 3D city model is the integration by all kinds of models.
