Wuyi Style Research

As a common understanding historical phenomenon by both academics and ordinary people, "Wuyi style" are extensively cited as an example in our Regional architecture, New vernacular architecture, Landscape architecture, Hotel architecture and other fields. Its history has been in the history of China's construction. Therefore, there is not only academic, but also wide range of social and ecological significance to make a systematic study on "Wuyi style".From varies aspects, there are different characteristics on "Wuyi style" construction, generally speaking or specialized speaking, broad senses or narrow senses. This article refers only to specialized narrow senses of "Wuyi style" construction. On the one hand, the author will use the gradually in-depth methods of "theoretical structure--example introduction--systematic analysis—concluding" to research. On the other hand, the author will sum up the theory from successful practice of "Wuyi style", and use the theory to our own practice.This article is divided into 3 parts, introduction, body and Appendix. The first chapter, introduction, is the framework of basic theoretical, such as the research of "style".Chapter II to V is the main body of the article. Firstly, it will analyze the causes of the formation of "Wuyi style" from natural, historical and social aspect. Secondly, it will introduce the growth process of "Wuyi style" construction, and some representation works of every stage in its growth. Then, it will analyze the characteristics of "Wuyi style", generally, individually and particularly. On the basis of the introduction and analysis, it will sum up the "Wuyi style" construction, including the impact of relevant disciplines to "Wuyi style", the ideological principles of "Wuyi style". Then furtherly summarize "Wuyi style" as "harmony", "true" and "empty". Finally, it's the inspiration and forecasting.Chapter VI is author's exploration and practice to "Wuyi style" construction in recent years, based on the summary of academic studies, including both the formalization and abstract application.
