The electric power demand side management (abbreviated as DSM) is very important on construction of well-off society in all-around, energy conservation, balance of power supply and demand and improvement of load factor. There are ready-made OLTP systems in some power plants and power administrations, and they have accumulated a large number of basic data. We can win help from the information storehouse how does the power supply enterprise " expands for promoting ' moving the peak and filling out the valley increasing economic efficiency, and make the data offer support and scientific basis for decision of enterprises.The warehouse technology of the data transforms the operating type data into comprehensive information, and has offered the effective solution to the inquiry and statistics of the magnanimity data. The characters of the data warehouse, systematic structure and online analytical processing (abbreviated as OLAP) and data mining technology are introduced, and how to develop DSM analysis system through combination of data warehouse and data mining technology in Microsoft SQL server 2000 is also presented. On the basis of analyzing necessary functions in a DSM data analysis system, a conception of a demand side data analysis system is proposed. This paper researches the method of demand analysis about oriented motif, the creation of the multi-dimensional database and the display of the multidimensional view. Moreover, a rough method has been given with two application instances advanced. One is customer segmentation analysis based on the method of fuzzy clustering, and the other is the future power consumption based on grey theory. This paper also discusses the combination of DW and decision support system (abbreviated as DSS).
