The Maglev ATP(Automatic Train Protection) system is a system for ensuring the Maglev safety and high-efficiency. How to guarantee the reliability and safety of the system is the precondition of the control goal .This paper focus on the study in problems above, and ATP duplex computer hot standby is designed in hardware and software two aspects. Experiment results have been performed to confirm the analysis .The ATP system is in high reliability and high safety ,and fit to the total requirements in fail-safe.First of all, by the investigate into ATP system, the author offered the requirements in ability which ATP system should fit to. Then based on it .we did deep research on the principle of the ATP system. Then we took great consideration in the stress of the Maglev, besides we also analyzed and accounted the principle of the drag force, resistance force and braking force. Based on it we design the model curve line of the ATP system.Secondly, based on fault-tolerance theory, we researched the multi-redundant structure of ATP system, and pointed that we could make ATP dual computer hot standby as the structure , besides ,we also showed the structure diagram of the computer fault-tolerance system. We adopted the modularization in designing the hardware, and divided the system into host computer module, input/output module and communication module, every module consists in two parts, which can run as host system or bake system.Lastly, we designed the software of ATP, based on the duplex computer hot standby, we gave the definition of duplex computer, single computer and synchronization of dual computer, the structure diagram of the system software, besides we detailed designed and experimented the software based modularization structure.
