The Technology Research On Changing Start-up Standby Transformer From Hot-standby To Cold-standby And Its Engineering Application

In this paper, based on empirical data, a detailed analysis of the Dalate powerplant and characteristics and operation situation, in full consideration of electricpower plant under the premise of safety, put forward the start-up standby transformerby hot standby to cold standby operation method, and through digital, physicalsimulation and field experiment, using plant quick cutting device and start-up standbytransformer protection with proof of the start-up standby transformer the feasibility ofcold standby. For the first time through field test, realized the start-up standbytransformer cold standby mode of operation, a comprehensive assessment of theauxiliary power fast switching device (PCS-9655) as well as the factory uses electricprotection device, verify start-up standby transformer in field application feasibility ofcold standby. PCS-9655different from the traditional program control timing switch,realizes fast and reliable cold standby power supply switching. Traditional switchingonly support transformer thermal backup control, while the new programme ofsupport for hot and cold standby two kinds of mode switching. Especially in thetransformer for cold standby mode, this technique provides a complete set of controlscheme of cold standby switching. In a specific embodiment the high and lowpressure side of the closing timing control and in different switching modes on circuitbreaker control. In the same time, field experiment has been done in Hohhot Jinqiaothermal power plant. Under the conditions of several typical faults, the experimentresults were analyzed in detail. The results show that the branch time quick-break canmeet the requirements of operation of high voltage station-service and start-upstandby transformer.
