Based On The Flexible Manufacturing System (fms) Tool Management

Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) settles the problems such as low efficiency, long period, high cost and bad quality and so on, which are brought about by the many kinds of productions and small scale, and has puzzled the manufacturing enterprise for many years. As the main method used to answer the keen competition of the market, FMS has been used widely in all over the world, especially in the developed countries. With the wide use of the FMS in manufacturing enterprises, the requirements for FMS also has been higher and higher, and tools of different kinds and types has been more and more. The backward in tool management has restricted the efficiency and the manufacturing ability of FMS seriously, and it has been a new problem need manufacturing enterprise to solve that how to management those tools, which are numerous and different in type.On the basis of introducing the current situation of tool management in different countries, the configuration and running method of tool management system based on FMS are expounded; the realization of tool monitor is introduced in detail. The tool flexible coding method is put forward, and the database structure model is also constructed.The following are the main working and research achievements of this paper:(1) Introduce the current situation of tool management in different countries, analyze the problems of FMS tool management system, and expounded the configuration and the running method of too management system.(2) Study on tool monitor: List some popular surveillance methods and introduce in detail the merits or demerits respectively and the different FMS circumstances the adapt to. The ambiguity of code describing in traditional coding system is solved, resulting in information describing quickly, thorough and exactly.
