Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is the set of micro-electronics technology, computer technology, communication technology, mechanical and control technology in one of the high degree of automation of manufacturing systems. Flexible manufacturing system generally refers to cutting process in the bulk of advanced automation and high level of flexible manufacturing systems for the target. And compared to the old automated production systems, flexible manufacturing system is suitable for such a variety of products in small volume production, It reduced labor costs, saved production costs, improved the utilization of machine and shorten the time of intermediate product inventory. According to actual needs of the assembly and disassembly it can easily add new functional units.The flexible manufacturing system is production of training system, its main object is the use of students, it enables students to learn as much as possible expertise and to learn the theoretical knowledge into practice. Based on this purpose, this paper mainly studies on the transmission lines of flexible manufacturing systems. On the basis of research and development trend of home and abroad, to explore the overall framework of flexible manufacturing systems and principles. Paper focuses on the flexible manufacturing system transmission line elements constitute the structure of various transfer forms, functions and working principle, complets with O-transmission unit, V belt transmission unit, flat belt transmission unit, chain drive unit, O-shaped with a corner unit, Pneumatic angle corner unit and drum unit and other key parts of the design, while the control part of the transmission line unit was designed, detailed analysis of the corner unit pneumatic air control and PLC control realization.The transmission line unit is a fundamental part of the flexible manufacturing system. Other functional units are based on the transmission line unit as the basis to construct; the transmission line will connect the various functional units into one organic whole. Though the studying of the structure of the transmission line unit, students can understand various forms of the transmission line unit, and understand characteristics and the use of the occasion of various forms of transmission. Though the studying of the control section of the transmission line unit, students can understand the use of pneumatic actuators and control components, and can understand the design of pneumatic control loop, and also can understand the use and operating principle of programmable controllers.The flexible manufacturing system development and application of practical ability of university culture, high quality of excellence, dissemination of advanced manufacturing technology, accelerate the development of China's manufacturing industry has far-reaching significance.
