Drivers' perception of road safety in travelling is relevant to road traffic safety nearly. So it is significant on road safety design not only in theory but also in practise to measure the perception of safety given the complex interactions among various road factors.Only a small number of studies have attempted to measure the perception of road safety presently, especially the quantifying of road safety perception level is short. Whereas this, be subject to second-class national way, use the method of comprehensive assessment in the fuzzy mathematics, this dissertation build a model method of measuring drivers' perception of road safety. This paper formulates several main road factors as indexes of the model on the base of the site prospecting, ensure the relevant membership functions of factors according to the statistical result of investigation testing data, and define the important degree of each assessing index by applying systematic engineering and AHP. On the base of these work, this dissertation sets up a mathematics model of fuzzy comprehensive assessment to quantitative evaluate drivers' perception of road safety, and deriving from this model, gains the index of perceived safety(IPS). Lastly, the paper also tests and applies this model with actual state, as a result, it speaks volumes for the rationality and applicability of this estimated model.
