As an important energy-saving production, the high-frequency electronic ballast is more and more attracted in many countries. Many scholars devote much time to researching it. They hope that they can design a high performance, low cost electronic ballast production. By far, it can't give attention to two. Many problems need to be solved, such as, EMC of circuit, technology of Active Power Factor Correction (APFC), integration of power switch and control circuit, research of single-stage and single-switch, optimization of output circuit, synthetically measure of circuit, etc. Electronic ballast is similar to switch power supply. If you want to design high performance electronic ballast, you must deal with and consider much more than switch power supply. Electronic ballast is not a simple production. In developed country, researching and designing electronic ballast are strong corporations. Out aim that we are in pursuit of is high Power Factor (PF), high efficiency and low cost.In this paper, we have deeply researched outside circuit of electronic ballast chip. The primary work is: have analyzed detailed in energy transfer of series-resonant parallel-loaded circuit, have analyzed detailed in fly-wheel of series-resonant parallel-loaded circuit and decreased the fly-wheel, and have described a method about how to design the series-resonant parallel-loaded circuit parameter; Have analyzed detailed in work course of Continuous-Input Current Charge Pump Power-Factor-Correction (CIC-CPPFC) electronic ballast circuit, which would make reader to understand the single-stage electronic ballast's working principle; Have designed the frequency modulation circuit in the CIC-CPPFC electronic ballast circuit, which would decrease the crest factor of circuit.
