The world is putting more attention into such industry as green power sources which are becoming fashion in many countries.As the 2008 Olympics will be held in beijing,China,our country also tries her best to impulse the development of electric vehicles using green power sources. Attention and using green power meet with the human being better living and afflect the improvement of the society .Including Nissan, GE and Volkswagen and so on,many auto companies develop the latest electric vehicle using green power sources and put millions of money to utilize electric vehicle.In China, some auto companies and research departments are groping for the electric vehicles. Now, in the world, the batteries used in EV involve lead-acid batteries, li-ion batteries, ZnMH batteries, NIGE batteries and so on. Especially, zinc/air fuel cell from shanghai Powerzinc fuel cell company now is equipped in EV of zhejiang univ. and give good test results.Own to the character of battery (fuel cell), it is difficult to detect battery energy presicely. Till now most EVs adapt such methods as OCV(open ciruit voltage detective), LV(load voltage detective), IR(inner resistance detective) and EC(energy cumulation detective). With ANN application, battery energy detective technique can get a high level.The main aid of my project is get some solution of energy detective about zinc/air fuel cell from shanghai powerzinc ltd.,. Firstly,let me introduce the features of this cell.Adapted such method to give birth to energy as zinc granules reation with O2 of air,this cell possesses the virture that there is a good relationship between discharging energy and charging energy, which is testified by the test of meters from company and actual experiments.Meanwhile, repeat number of charging can be ignored for cell because it get energy again by substituting substance in fuel cell.So, we can get the conclusion that this cell belongs to such type as whose energy rebirthes without history factor which always influnences other types of cells.From the above analysises, it will be easy to get some solution to detect energy of zinc/air fuel cell in related precision.According to the features of zinc/air fuel cell.the author brings forward the approach to detect energy of it.The approach including such steps: precisely measure the value of voltage, current, temperture of the experiments and use ANN to modify the meaure results and compute the discharging energy, power ; adapt the method of EC method to detect the SOC. By validating,the method can well meet with the need of using this type of battery in EV. At last, author gives the detail solution of battery management system(BMS) based on the electrical circuit used in this subject.
