Kunming Street Plant Landscape Design

Street is a stage to demonstrate the urban landscape. The landscape, the style of city buildings, the signs and billboards with different color and instructions, the unique virescence and the sketches facilities.These scenes on the street always becom the representatives of the city's landscape. The virescence plant as a street space, one of the major elements, in addition to its own build function, it is also the main city of the natural landscape in improving the ecological environment and the quality of life for urban residents, and plays a positive and an indispensable role in urban architecture and art. Therefore, enhancement of the street of plant building, for a city's image and continuable development plays a very important role.At present, China's major cities are striving to build garden city, park city and eco-city. The virescence is an important guide line. Among them, street virescence is a an important component in city virescence. In this paper, research and discussion had been made, according to target and measures of Kunming for building the national garden city, especially, with the tie-in of plant virescence for several important strets in Kunming.The research work has with a practical basis and theoretical academic significance. Thesis mainly includes the following aspects:1. This paper discussed the concepts about plant landscape of urban streets, historical development and research status. Then, summarized a common problem about the domestic design in plant landscape of city streets.2. From the fodder about streets plant landscape and ornamental characteristics, analysed and demonstrated aesthetic characteristics, structure of landscape and spatial character of plant landscape of urban streets.3. Take example for Kunming, this paper reviewed and sum up the history of urban virescence in Kunming, based on the correlation analysis. According to every stage of constructed results and long-term virescence planning system, Classificated researches have been done to the current situation about different types of streets plant landscape from the perspective of landscape study. Its characteristics and shortcomings were brought forward. 4. The paper constituted the design principles for characteristics of street space in Kunming. Three faces were selected to discuss artistic expression about streets plant landscape:the elements about visual shape, the principle of aesthetics and kinds. Through this research, that the street plant landscapes of Kunming need to focus on greening configuration, plant modeling, regional culture, local choice and so on, with a view to combining the street space, more seasonal landscapes, the reaction city's image, reflects the local culture, so that per plant can maximize its effectiveness.
