In this article, the author reviews the development of commercial pedestrian streets throughout the world, and concludes a kit of troubles or problems once represented over the growing process. After consulting the success of oversea pedestrian streets, from a sight of proper consideration on landscape environment in China, the author gives guidelines and some key elements which are the design necessaries for commercial pedestrian streets landscape environment.Thus, summarizing a series of existing projects, the process is structured to employ a combination of three chapters as landscape environmental design regarding:1. The activities and behaving which mirrors to space design, in commercial pedestrian streets, includes four parts: commercial pedestrian streets Scale and Proportion, Morphology, Interfacial Configuration and commercial pedestrian streets Space-Behaving Related.2. Physical design in commercial pedestrian streets landscape environmental issues represents itself as Public Facilities, Art-Design in Public, Sign Design and Green.3. The cultural phenomenon and symbolism suggests four characters like pedestrian streets Context Continuity, Creating a Shopping Space Personality, Revitalizing the Local Traditional Activities, and Tour Development.At the end of the discussion, based on the former analyses and research on landscape environmental in commercial Pedestrian Street, the author draws a conclusion on all the characters as shopping activities regard. Correspondingly, the article ends with how to make a reasonable proposal in the landscape environmental.
