Blue glass filter has wide applications in imaging, medical, monitoring and other fields. The quality of the filter in the process of edge grinding have a direct impact on the sequence including fine grinding and fine polishing process. The study is based on the Qinhuangdao glass manufacturer in the process of grinding filter occur the edge of collapse, crushing and other issues. This paper makes a systematic research on the grinding process and optimization of the process to get the reasonable process parameters of the filter edging. It has an important significance to improve the production quality and processing efficiency of filter.This paper studies the process of filter edging has three main parameters including grinding speed, feed speed and grinding depth. The main contents have the following aspects:First, according to the special shape of the trapezoidal grinding head to build the grinding mechanics model about the parameters including grinding speed, feed speed and grinding depth. Verify the reasonableness of the model by simulation software output normal grinding force and analyze the edging parameter influence on the grinding force of law.Secondly, set up the FEM model based on the impact of the generate sub-surface cracks and removing material about filters in single grain grinding. Simulation of the crack propagation and production mechanism in the chipping removal process by AUTODYN software. Explore the influence of law on subsurface damage about the parametric of grinding speed and feed speed.Thus providing a theoretical basis for the selection of milling process parameters.Then, according to the grinding process design of the main functions of automatic grinding machine parts and the selection of the electric spindle and electric cylinder etc in order to lay the foundation for grinding experiment.Finally, using orthogonal experiment method, according normal grinding force in the milling process and maximum size deviation after edging as the indicator so that optimizing the edging parameters. The influence of process parameters for the primary and secondary order: grinding depth, feed speed, grinding speed. Ultimately determine the optimum parameters: grinding depth 50μm, feed speed 100mm/min,Grinding speed 18000r/min.This research solves problems about chipping in the milling process and increase the pass rate of the filters in subsequent production, has important application value engineering.
