Filter Thickener is a new thickening and clarification device,separating solid and liquid in centrifugal force field by using the principle of pressure filter.It has the advantages of high concentration efficiency,large concentration rangeand fast adjustment etc.Due to its filtration concentration process is completed under the interaction offeed pressure,centrifugal force and rotation,the flow field of Filter Thickener is quite complex.Therefore,to research and analysis the flow pattern and the key process parameters on the internal flow field can provide the basis for optimizing the structure design and determining reasonable working parameters.This paper analyzes the key process parameters and internal flow fieldon Filter Thickener through the experimental data analysis and simulation.With clear water experiment and critical process parameters experiment using filtration concentration experiment system in the laboratory,this paper researched and analyzedeffects of feed concentration,feed pressure,rotating speed and concentrated valve opening on concentration effect.In the research of numerical simulation,this paper simulated the flow field of Filter Thickener using commercial computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT.Based on the pressure field,velocity field and streamlines of flow field,this paper analyses the filtration and concentration processinside the equipment.To sum up,the working process,key process parameters and flow field characteristics of Filter Thickener are analyzed by numerical simulation and experimental study,in order to understand the movement rule of flow field in the equipment and the effect of key process parameters on filtration concentration effect,providing theoretical foundation and experimental basis for its structure and parameters optimization.The main research works are as follows:1.Using the experimental system,orthogonal test was done to study the effect of key process parameters on concentration effect of Filter Thickener;2.Using GAMBIT to establish the model of Filter Thickener,and using FLUENT to simulate the flow field of Filter Thickener and study characteristics of pressure field and velocity field in different conditions;3.Comprehensive analysis of experimental results and numerical simulation results was done.
