A Study On The Design Of Costume In Chinese Tea Culture

With the progress of society, development of the economy and improvement of the material life, people’s aesthetic taste and concept are experiencing qualitative changes, and their requirements in the spiritual and cultural field are becoming more and more. Tea-tasting has become a way to seek leisurely and carefree time in urban vanity fair. During the process of tea-tasting and conducting the art of tea-making, as well as the tea ceremony, costume is needed to realize the trinity of the clothes, tea ceremony and tea state. From a panoramic point of view of the situation, few people have carried out systematic and in-depth research on the clothes that the tea master wear during the process of this elegant cultural behavior. Therefore, I have proposed this study on the design of clothing in the contemporary Chinese tea culture.This paper firstly states the history of tea culture home and abroad, from its emergence to its enrichment, with plain language, and it focuses on the development status of the tea culture in Tang dynasty. It also makes a comparative study on Chinese and Japanese tea culture.It then discusses the gradual loss of Chinese traditional culture in the current age of information. The cultural symbols in a certain era certainly will stage a comeback and renaissance. Tea costumes, as the derivative of people’s spiritual wealth in a time of peace and prosperity, represents our country’s tea culture. Culture is a life fresh and alive, and its lasting vitality exists only if there is development. The cultural meaning carried by the tea costume has become the most fresh postcard in the international communication of China.After that, it uses the historical changes at the vertical level as the ordinate axis to study the styles, patterns, fabrics and colors of the traditional national costumes in the past dynasties. It mainly chooses the costume dressed in the tea-tasting environment as the research object and makes a summary of the traditional costumes in the past dynasties, from which it intends to find out some development tracks that the contemporary design of tea costumes could refer to, thus establishing the overall aesthetic idea and national characteristics of the tea culture costume.It further discusses the deficiencies existing in the current tea culture costume, and analyzes the problems and causes. According to the causes, it proposes design ideas and methods to overcome the problems, and summarizes the representative rules, in whichbreakthrough points are sought for to formulate a complete system of design methods that facilitates the popularization. Thus it is expected to provide references and proposals for the design of contemporary tea culture costume.Based on the China’s long history of culture and civilization, aimed at the cultural features inherent in the tea, and combing the requirement for functionality of the tea costume and innovative thoughts, as well as referring to the tea-tasting environmental implication, it designs a series of tea costumes possessing the tea charm, tea meaning and tea sentiment, which reserves and inherits the traditional costumes, and at the same time, integrates the likes of contemporary people. It is very innovative with the epochal character.
