"Seats" became the living room furniture since the humanity settled down, the people in china had mastered the skill of making mat using straw since the Upper Paleolithic. The people can sit and lay on the straw mat, thus the straw mat became the oldest “Seats”. The intrinsic design style and form for “seats” have been formed from the ancient seats style. Since the design process for seats have been performed, although the design style and form in Wei and Jin dynasties are not perfect, but it influences the later. For thousands of years, the traditional seats have witnessed the evolution process of the ancients’ life orientation and aesthetic temperament and interest, they have strong national style and age characteristics, and reflect the creation thought and cultural connotations. The design style for the seats in the Wei and Jin Dynasties is the turning point from low seat to high seat, the evolution process for the seats style fully reflected the influence of traditional culture to the later creation. Combing the modern design method and refining the influence of seats style in Wei and Jin Dynasties for modern times and modern seats’ form and functional requirement, we design and verify the design of modern seats.
