The Research On Seats Design Based On Bionic Theories

With the rapid development of world economy, people’s living standard improves unceasingly, consumers have a higher and higher level of appreciation for the design. Designers need more design methods to design more innovative products. Bionic design is a kind of method that different from the conventional method for design that widely used in many fields such as construction, clothing, products and so on, it still should be broader space for development in field of furniture in the future.The seats is the most commonly used type of furniture with its abundant usage and wide used area, its modeling can be simple and diversity, its space of design is very large. This thesis used literature research, case analysis, quantitative study and so on in the research of seats bionic design. According to the data statistical analysis about the information of pictures, materials and so on of 100 bionic seats selected, founding that the main materials of bionic seats is glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP),stainless steel, plastic, cloth, sponge, wood and so on. The materials of better plasticity and strength have high rate of usage. The imitation objects are mainly animals, plants and human body and so on. According to the research of bionic theories of bionic seats, they can be divided into:Bionic theories based on modeling of the natural objects; bionic theories based on the structure or function of the natural objects; bionic theories based on materials of natural objects. On the basis of bionic theories, this thesis discusses bionic principles of seats bionic design, it follow the bionic principles of "plasticity, liveliness, suitability, economy". Bionic design of seats can be done respectively by imitation content, the degree of integrity, the degree of abstract, imitation object. There are form bionic, structure bionic, color bionic, texture bionic and so on according to imitation content; according to the degree of integrity, it divided into integral bionic and partial bionic; according to the degree of abstraction, it can be divided into abstract bionic and representational bionic; there are animals bionic, plants bionic and human bionic according to the imitation object. By the classification of imitation content or imitation object, the same kind of bionic tactics can be used individually or in combination; by the classification of the degree of integrity or the degree of abstract, the same kind of bionic tactics can be only used individually. Through the data statistical analysis to bionic tactics of bionic seats collected, this thesis discusses the application of bionic tactics in the design of bionic seats. Finally, three bionic seats over some of the bionic design technique carries on the practice exploration. Finally, four design plans of bionic seats are proposed to make practical exploration about bionic design tactics.
