Study On The Change Of Light Environment Of Suzhou

With the development of economy and urban construction, developing, protecting and managing the light environment have already became an important task of constructing and managing the modern city.This thesis has carried on a survey and measurement to present situation of light environment of Suzhou in May to June 2009, including the survey of illuminance and luminance, the investigation of the number of light advertising and building lighting, and questionnaires.On the basis of the investigation and survey,the main light environmental issues of five districts are summarized, including uneven and high road luminance, billboard clutter, high luminance of green lighting, uneven and low illuminance of residential areas, too many neon lamps and low illuminance of commercial streets, low illuminance of parks, etc. The main reasons of the problems are found, such as shading of trees, lacking of designing, lacking of referenced standards, poor management, lamps obsolete or damaged, weak awareness of environmental protection,etc. Compared with the state of light environment in 2006, the major changes are declining uniformity of illuminance of new road, growing number of advertising signs, declining light environmental quality of residential areas, growing number of people affected by light pollution, etc. The countermeasures are proposed, such as improving the level of planning and design, drawing up relevant documents, strengthening the management of the light environment, cultivation of professional talent, increasing people's awareness of environmental protection and so on.
