The 21st century is the age of ocean. The exploration and exploitation of ocean promotes the flourish of marine science research. The development of marine science research sets higher requirements on the organization of marine spatio-temporal data. With the initiation of "Digital Ocean", the application of marine spatio-temporal data has shifted on Web platform. Under this background, the traditional methods and integration models of organization of marine spatio-temporal data cannot meet the demand of web application. New methods must be proposed and studied. Grid is the main technology of next generation network, which can construct virtual grid environment and provides "one stop" services and transparent access to information. The management of marine spatio-temporal data in grid environment can solve the shortages of traditional methods of organization and management.This thesis presents the recent advances in research on organization and management of marine spatio-temporal data, and analyses the study object and requirement of organization and management of marine spatio-temporal data in grid environment. An in-depth research was finished with the web service technology and grid technology ,according to the features of marine spatiotemporal data, in which the architecture of the organization and management of marine spatio-temporal data in grid environment and the integration method of marine spatio-temporal data have been proposed. The case study of application and integration of Argo information was introduced in detail. The grid Demonstration System of Argo was designed on the ArcGIS Server platform and the centralized organization and management of distributed Argo and Web application was realized. Using this case study, the thesis shows how the proposed organization architecture and the integration method for marine spatio-temporal enhance flexibility in ocean information service in the grid environment.
