Research And Application Of Spatio-temporal GIS Modeling

Everything and phenomena are always changing,traditional GIS only processes the snapshot of geography entity,in order to understand and model the dynamic changing of our real world exactly,we expect to reconstruct the past statue,track the changing or forecast the future of real word.Now,many spatio-temporal data models have been constructed in many application fields of GIS,while,few of this model can meet the need of GIS users.This paper construct a spatio-temporal data model called GOOSTDM(General Object-Oriented Spatio-Temporal Data Model)based on the relative result of past research.The main research results and creative proposals are following;(1)Analyzing the development statue and the meaning of researching spatio-temporal GIS. Summarizes the shortage of the currently researching,presents a framework system of spatio-temporal GIS.(2)Based on the analysis of general viewpoint of spatio-temporal,we put forward three type viewpoint of spatio-temporal GIS,namely spatio-temporal dominant, spatio-temporal equality and temporal subordinate viewpoint of spatio-temporal.(3)Fully analyzing and appraising the currently used spatio-temporal concept model and model method,discusses the shortage of these models,brings forward a five-aspect evaluation criterion of spatio-temporal modeling.A new spatio-temporal data model GOOSTDM is discussed,this model expresses the spatial,temporal and attribute character of geography entity as class hierarchy structure,all these make a foundation for spatio-temporal GIS construction.(4)Based on theory of point set and Bertin's visual variable,discusses eleven manipulate sets least in spatio-temporal changing and six basic relation sets of spatio-temporal topology.(5)Based on the analysis of spatio-temporal database model,discusses the multi-layer concept model and engine of relational database,and designs a logical spatio-temporal data structure.A method of dual QR-Tree and R-Tree mixing and all temporal spatio-temporal index is also presented.(6)Models and tests the discrete and continuous spatio-temporal phenomena of real world through two application case;Spatio-temporal Cadastre Management Prototype System and Aerial Defence Spatio-temporal Drilling System.In the application cases,we test the feasibility and adaptability of spatio-temporal data model.
