The spatio-temporal data model is the key to realize the functionality of effectively representing, managing and analyzing massive spatio-temperal data, which is essential for cadastral information system. The model of base state with amendments is the most suitable model to describe the parcel land change, which has been widely used. At present, it has been a trend to fulfill the management of cadastral alteration and backdating the historical cadastral information and to support tracking and analyzing cadastral spatio-temporal information during the course of building cadastral information system.Firstly, the concept, status quo and evolutive trend of TGIS (Temporal Geographic Information System) are discussed. Based on the characteristics of the cadastral data, the modeling of cadastral spatio-temporal data is put forward. After summarizing the relationship between the spatio-temporal data modeling and TGIS, the model of base state with extending amendments and object-oriented spatio-temporal model are emphasized. To realize uniform management of cadastral spatio-temporal data, the cadastral spatio-temporal database is designed after analyzing its conceptual design, logical design and physical design respectively. Finally, based on the cadastral database building project of Jiande City in Zhejiang Province by making use of a GIS system named ReGIS 5.0, the conception of space and time is illuminated practically and visually and the dual implementation of spatio-temporal data model applied to both graphical data and attribute data is revealed. The application shows that the database designed for the cadastral spatio-tamepral management in this study gains the advantage of backdating and querying cadastral information rapidly and fleetly, which makes practical sense to promote the building and development of the cadastral information management, especially to perform the reappearance of historical state and backdating effectively.
