Robust design is a design method about quality and cost of product. It is appliedto product design or craftwork design works, through optimizing parameters to reducefluctuate of product and improve its quality. Robust design can satisfy the productdemands of high performance, low cost and high noise resistance.Some parameters of the shaped charge structure make a great influence to thepenetration effect, such as cover angle, liner thick and cover height and so on. On theother hand, error and uncertainties coming form material quality, craftwork andmanufacturing exit inescapability in the shaped charge structure. Consequently, it ismeaningful to do the robust design for a shaped charge structure, it will bring with notonly the penetration depth deeper but also the scatter of penetration depth lower.After the theory of the shaped charge penetration being studied and the factors ofeffect penetration being analyzed, the configuration analytic model of shaped chargepenetration is established, and the program of shaped charge penetration is compiled.And, the mathematic models of the robust design of shaped charge structure areproposed. In the robust design models, the design variables are defined such as coverangle, liner thick and cover height and so on, the uncertainties of structure such asmachining error and precision and so on are considered, the penetration depth is takenas the structural response characteristic, and respectively use the SN ratio, theintegration index of average value and promenade about penetration depth to be as thetarget functions of the robust design. The improved genetic algorithms is used to solvethe robust design of shaped charge structure, the robust design program is compiled tooptimize the project, in which demands the penetration depth is deeper and the scatterof penetration depth is lower.The robust design problem of a shaped charge structure with single cover angleliner is used as an example; the proposed method and the design program arevalidated to be feasible to get a robust scheme in the shaped charge structure design.The result indicates that the optimum process of improved genetic algorithms torobust design of shaped charge structure shows stability and convergence speedy, andthe proposed robust design method has some engineering application value.
