The biological effects of electromagnetic field have been recently studied. A lot of new phenomena were found in these investigations. Firstly, we introduced the advances of investigation of the biological effects and its applications. Then, we present the research results for the effects of Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic Field (ELF-EMF), in which the influences on the indexes of hemorheology, the levels of blood lipid, property of vasodilatation function are gave. It is favorable to provide new methods and theoretical basis for preventing and curing cardiovascular diseases. In this thesis, the effects of Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic Field (ELF-EMF) on the proliferation of colorectal cancer cell in vitro have been investigated. The results of study are summarized as follows:1. In the experiment of cardiovascular system, through measurements of the properties of hemorheology, blood lipid and vascular function we find that the ELF-EMF can significantly inhibits the indexes of hemorheology, the levels of blood lipid and improve the vasodilatation function of animal, in comparison to the control group (P<0.05). The result is favorable to provide new methods and theoretical basis for preventing and curing cardiovascular diseases.2. In the experiment, the mice colorectal cancer cells are used and exposed to ELF-EMF. The proliferation of cell is measured by the methods of phase contrast microscope and MTT colorimetric assay. The main results obtaine:1 The C26 represented the unremarkable colonies, low speed of growth and differentiation, reduced density as well as shrinking of synapsis along with exposed time of ELF-EMF . 2 The result of MTT colorimetric assay reveals that the proliferation of C26 exposed to ELF-EMF can be significantly inhibited compared with the control group (P<0.05). The effect is more significant along with time of ELF-EMF exposure.
