Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) templates were prepared by aluminum anodizing in given electrolyte oxalic with one-step and two-step methods. The influence to the degree of order, the thickness and aperture of AAO templates were studied based on some factors, such as the electrolyte and its concentration, temperature, the oxidation voltage and time, as well as anneal condition etc. SEM and AFM photos presented the whole process of fabricating AAO temperates. With regard to the fluctuating voltaic, we discussed the mechanism of the self-assembled regular pores of AAO templates.Based on the AAO templates, nanorods, nano-tubes and quantum-dot arrays were fabricated, especially the highly-orded Fe, Co-Ni, C60 fullerene, are fabricated by Laser Molecular Beam Epitaxy (LMBE), Electrochemical Deposition or Pressure Difference. With the figures and components were characterized by SEM, AFM, EDX and XRD, it indicates that the ordered nano materials arranged regularly and with uniform dimension which almost accord with that of AAO templates.What's more, a kind of new metal template was copied and fabricated by using AAO templates as a mask. These copied metal templates have the same aperture with the mask, and the thickness depends on the deposition time.On the other hand, Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) spectra of very good quality of gold/C60 (/C70) nano-clusters deposited on some substrates were reported by using the pyridine as a intermediate to connect and nest the C60/C70 molecule to the gap of Gold nano-particles and substrate. The number of vibrational modes was greatly increased, especially some modes that were forbidden in Raman spectrum, appeared and even split as prediction of group theory. The enhancement factor is 106.The ordered nano-materials usually present unique properties, such as in the field of optics and spectroscopy. With regard to the advantages of SERS, it is significant to apply AAO templates to act as a substrate. It provides convenience for probing the C60/C70 vibrational structure, the physical properties and structural perturbation induced by the substrate upon the fullerene cage with the high sensitivity, in particular, the adsorption behaviour, the interaction of fullerene with the metal surface and the SERS mechanism of molecules nested between the gold nano-particles and the AAO template pores.
