As the the most active factor of productivity, information technology is infiltrating and changing tour increasingly,and accelerating international process from many sides such as social culture, technology,market structure of tour,administer and distribution of tour.Maps have been the necessary in our everyday tour. Through the atlas we can particular instance of the showplace, historic site and lacal custom at the destination. Futherly,we can learn about some information such as travel routes, sights,room and board, and shopping. So the foundation of TGIS is imperative under the situation.Through the analysis of actuality of basic tour resource,this article clarifies conception of TGIS,and discusses the trend offounding TGIS,and put forward a qustion in this paper__designing athe Travelling Geo—graphic Information Inquiring System .For example the city of KunMing' tour resource,it illumilate the means and principia and steps of GIS according to the collectivity design, from the characteristic of the tour resource, we analysis the technique ways of the systenu the user' requirement analysis, the system collectivity design , the particular function design and the data model design for holding out the system.At last, based on thedesign principle of GIS and MapX and Visual Basic6,it introduce the realization process of system and portion programme code, design a suit of TGIS which is convenience, practical and easy to operate. The system realize basic function of GIS such as show of maps, zoom in,zoom out and pan and so on. In addition, the system realizes input, delete and edit of map elements and query of map elements and so on.
