The measurement of soil radon emanation has been studied in this paper ,Activated carbon adsorption and γ spectrum methods have been built . Weconsidered the influence of activated carbon water content on carbon radon adsorptionability and modified the calibration factors when the water content of activated carbonvaried . In theγ spectrum method , we deduced the emanation formula in theory . Itameliorated the classic method in which the high activity uranium ore samples wereanalyzed with short counting time to the radon daughters for a month . But in ourmethod , we can diminish the statistic error through prolonging the counting time foreach time . We can diminish the error through multi-point fitting .We choosed the counting channels of radon and thoron of ERS-2 and consideredthe mutual interference between radon and thoron . We set the radon channels from 60to 115 , and thoron is 119 to 128 . Radon and thoron calibration factors are 1.78 and7.63 respectively , the relative error of radon concentration ERS-2 measured is 3.0%compared to the standard radon concentration and thoron is 3.2% . We deduced theequations which can eliminate the mutual interference between radon and thoronmeasurement . After eliminating the mutual interference , the relative error of radonand thoron measurement are –34.0% and 17.3% compared to the standard radon andthoron concentrations respectively .Under the study of relativity of different radon exhalation measurement methods,we concluded that the linear correlation coefficient between theoretical arithmeticmethod and static collection method is 0.6286 , and it is 0.7326 between theoreticalarithmetic method and activated carbon adsorption method and 0.9734 between staticcollection method between activated carbon adsorption method . The relativitiesneed to be further validated .
