Based ReWorks Embedded Geographic Information System (EGIS) Design

With the development of computer technology, location technology, mobile communication technology, and the improvement of the performance of embedded device and embedded operation system, it is possible of developing GIS with embedded system. On the other hand, the study of GIS, which supplies more and more technology base and theory base for embedded GIS, has touched each aspect of it. Under such a condition, the Embedded GIS has been development quickly.The EGIS in this paper is an Embedded GIS which is base of the embedded operation system - ReWorks. The system has mixed together multi multitechnology such as computer technology, location technology, mobile communication technology and GIS technology. This system has supplied the function of location and navigation for the mobile target and the function of supervision for the management target.First, the paper analyses the technology background, research of present condition and hard device condition of the embedded GIS. Then on the base of that, the paper has made the structure of EGIS. There are several method which chiefly resolve the key question of the system in the following content. The key questions are the management of geo-data, the geo-visualization, the location and mobile communication in the system. These question are just from the confliction between the limitation of the hard device and work situation and the requirement of the function and the data. At last, there are the summarization of the hole paper and more work to do.
