Recently, with the improvement of the wireless communication,flash memory,chip technology, the convenient mobile device is rapidly developed. As the widely use of the GIS in different industries, the embedded GIS based up on the mobile device attracts more and more people's attention. Because of a variety of the operation systems of the mobile device, this paper will raise an efficient,platform-independent GIS map system framework based on embedded environment, then represent the functions of each module in this system, and talk over some key technologies as following: Organization and management of the data, expression of the line-shape road, efficient render engine.For the requirement of the high efficiency, manage the data by partitioning and layer, create index for each layer and store the data in the file database after compression; On choosing the strategy of the compression, diminish the amount of data by two steps: Compress the data by lossless manner while storing the data first, then condense the data by lossy manner while render the data to delete the redundant data; To optimization of the expression of the road, create the road face by line-shape data and integrate the anti-aliasing method; Realize the render engine based on GAPI to overcome the inefficient GDI's shortage; Present the map control to improve the system portability.Finally, this paper will point out the topics in the further research after summing up the work finished.
