Chinese traditional folk art is an integral part of Chinese origin culture. It has integrated into people's life, such as: clothing, food, housing, transportation, wedding, funeral, festival custom, faith and taboo. And also, It has become comprehensive thinking concept and way. This kind of folk culture is based on agriculture civilization and public thinking. It is a very important embodiment for human art language and thinking way. It is like the inexhaustible treasures in modern design. Along with the development of economic globalization, folk art not only faces how to protect and spread but faces how to dig and reuse its language elements to serve modern design, how to combine with folk art and modern art, how to integrate with traditional culture and zeitgeist, how to make a design language to represent the spirit and connotation of the Chinese nation. These significant questions need us to think.As above mentioned, referring to the research of folk Bu Tie painting at Yan Chuan area in Shan Xi province. Analyzing its art language (including shape pattern, color language, visual sign, culture connotation and so forth) expressing its the rich cultural deposits, these respects bring essential guidance and reference effects to modern design, and also build a new domain to the innovation and progress of folk art. We can build not only individual design language but also design concept and system which can keep pace with international design trend by deriving and integrating the cream of the Chinese folk art. Finally, we are able to make the path of the Chinese design which is really accepted by the world.
