The Modernity Design Research On Chinese Traditional Folk Toy

We bring up this thesis about Chinese traditional folk toy modernity design for it can't suit the need of modern society. This paper introduces the origin, development, status and sort of traditional folk toy and analyzes elements which affect traditional folk toy design, compares traditional folk toy with modern toy. We educe the solution that traditional folk toy are facing enormous challenge and tending towards decline. So we bring forward a new theory which injects modern elements to tradition folk toy, so that it has added many new entertainment contents and become to a new type of toy with Chinese characteristics according with modern people.Although traditional folk toy can not satisfy modern society's entertainment requirement, we can't let it disappear, because it is a kind of representative culture of our country, we must inherit and protect it and let it carry forward. How to do it is the main problem this paper need to solve. Theoretical point of view, it is to satisfy the demand of consumer, adapt the need of market. For this it can lead the development of society consumption. The Chinese traditional folk toy's main drawback is its weak conception consciousness, it can't satisfy consumer's demand, so that the designed production is of lack of competitive power. In order to solve this problem, we need to use the successful toy designing experience both at home and abroad for reference and combine practical status. Only in this way can we absorb good elements in traditional culture. Take practice for instance, this paper introduces Beijing Tuerye's modernity design practice. We can see its design method, design program, design idea, the problems facing and the production design idea derived from it.Chinese traditional folk toy is a main part of traditional culture. Modernity design of traditional folk toy not only inherits and carries forward Chinese traditional folk toy but also is a protection method of traditional culture. It is right to enrich modern toy industry. I wish this paper's design method can offer little coach meaning to toy designers and can make more and more people to draw attention to the modernity design of Chinese traditional folk toy.
