Analyzing The Present State Of Folk Belief In Zhejiang From The Temples In Villages And Towns

Nowadays the research of fork belief has become the hot spot in many social humanities such as sociology, folklore, history and religious studies. Many people choose the temple fair as perspective, and through inspecting the temple belief, they begin their monographic study, for example, the relationship between the center and the locality, the leisure life of the masses and the financial condition of temple. Their achievements do well to the research, but the energy we spend in the lowest temple is not enough, while these temples can reflect the real belief state of the masses. That's the reason why I select the Baishui temple in Wuyi County in Zhejiang as the typical case. From the investigation to the Baishui temple and the other folk temples in Zhejiang, I hope to analyze the existence of the present folk temple belief in Zhejiang. The thesis is not only to supply a practical platform for interrelated theory, but also to pose operational suggestion.The thesis divides into three parts. The first one, card-index the definition of folk belief of temple in villagers and towns, pose the two types of folk religion, and point out the folk belief of temple in villagers and towns is a lacking type. The second part, dissect the typical case Baishui temple. I choose four sides, including the stratification, the culture space, the management, and one of the most important ceremonies, meanwhile showing the additional forms of the other temples, to try to present the contemporary authentic state of folk temples in Zhejiang. The third part, I select several points to confirm the theoretic analysis to the present state of the folk temples. In the concluding part, I pose some suggestion.This thesis takes two methods. The one is fieldwork and the other is documentary way. The first part adopts the latter method. The second part is my fieldwork, while the last part is the combing of the two methods.
