Study On The Regional Economic Disparity And Harmonized Development In Shanxi Province

As our country's energy and chemical base, the economic development in Shanxi in recent years has made remarkable achievements. However, due to the natural and economic foundations, there are huge regional economic disparities. Therefore, the study of regional economic disparities and coordination of Shanxi development has important practical significance to Shanxi's economic rise.This paper based on the analysis of regional economic differences in Shanxi Province. On the basis of the status quo, the author in-depth analysis of its causes, noted the necessity in the regional economy regulation of Shanxi, and highlighted the policy proposals of coordinated development of regional economic.This paper is divided into seven chapters: The first chapter as introductory has mainly discussed the background and significance of this thesis, and the author made an overview in the status of regional economic disparities at home and abroad. Chapter II described three basic theories firstly: The balanced development of regional economic theory, the theory of non-balanced development, and regional economic coordinated development theory. Then, based on these theories, I defined the concept of regional economic differences and connotations, and made a brief introduction to the study of regional economic differences between the main measure indicators. In Chapter III, I studied empirically on the regional economic differences in Shanxi, and selected the 11 prefecture-level city in Shanxi Province as the basic area unit. I choosed per capita GDP (1999-2008) in these regions for the measured indicators to analyze the regional economic disparities in the overall characteristics .Then, I researched spatial characteristics of regional economic in Shanxi by the use of the municipalities deviation, the ratio and relative growth rate. At the same time, I made factor analysis through 14 indicators form the basis of the index system, measured the comprehensive difference around the city of Shanxi's economic development level using SPSS software. Chapter IV further analyzed the cause of provincial regional disparity from natural and economic foundation, traffic, economic structure, and so on. Chapter V analyzed the necessity for regulation differences in the regional economy of Shanxi. Chapter VI promoted seven countermeasures to coordinated regional economic development of Shanxi.Hope that the research results in this paper can reduce regional economic disparities in Shanxi Province, and play a certain role in the guidance and reference to promote the coordinated development of Shanxi province.
