The Study On Chengdu Regional Economic Disparities And Regional Economic Coordinated Development

Regional economic disparities exist is a socio-economic phenomenon. Moderate disparity is conducive to the rational allocation of resources and industrial space transfer, however, larger regional economic disparities not only harm to regional economic development, but also to social stability. Regional economic disparities have been crux of the problem in regional economics research; and will be a universal problem in the process of word economic developing. Since the 1980s, as China's economic system gradually from the planned economy to market economy system, national economic development strategy has changed from the balanced development to the non-balanced development, coastal and the Mainland, the province between jurisdictions, provincial or municipal jurisdiction within the regional economic gap is widening. Regional economic disparities have become an urgent need to study and solve in China's economic and social development. This problem has been concerned by academics and government departments. Regional economic disparities related to a wide range of services, including the choice of regional economic development model, regional economic cooperation, regional development and economic development coordination, regional economic equilibrium and non-equilibrium development strategy and the choice of economic development efficiency and fairness contradictions and many other areas of research. It is not just an economic issue, but also the region's social development.The coordinated development of regional is one of solution to regional economic disparities. "The 10th Five-Year Plan of National Economic and Social Development"propose to build a socialist harmonious society; the coordinated development of regional economy has become the important measures to solve social conflicts, and realize a harmonious society. Western China is relatively backward areas, Chengdu as one of the core cities, plays an important role to the economic development of the western region. After entering the 21st century, Chengdu, the 10th party congress presented "efforts to build entrepreneurial environment in western China optimal, best living environment, the strongest comprehensive strength of modern major city ". According to "China Urban Development Report (2003-2004)", comprehensive strength and growth potential of Chengdu are ranked ninth. However, we have to admit, there is considerable disparity of economic strength and social environments in Chengdu domain inherent. But if the disparities in the way of socio-economic progress threaten the socio-economic development of coordination, how to control regional disparities, promote coordinated economic development and enhance its overall competitiveness, this article tries to solve the problem. Therefore, this article uses regional economics principle and method, a research-based, empirical analysis to research Chengdu City regional economic disparities, and recommend coordinated economic development theory and policy for Chengdu.
