Abstract/Summary:
Human resources, which are replacing material resources to be strategic resources in modern enterprises, are the main driving force of economic growth and a decisive factor in business development. How to establish an efficient management of human resources to motivate the staff is a current major problem for a modern enterprise. Employee performance evaluation, a core content of human resource management in a modern enterprise, tends to play a more and more important role in establishing an efficient human resource management system. Therefore, enterprises should learn how to utilize the performance evaluation as a tool to motivate the staff to maximize their contribution to the business.Hunan Xinhua Bookstore Co., Ltd. is going to be a joint-stock company recently. With the rapid development of the business and the growing workforce, the company is facing some problems in the enterprise management, human resource management, especially in employee performance evaluation and other related systems. In this paper, we conducted a survey of the status of the current performance management of this company by questionnaires, interviews and other means. Then through in-depth analysis of the company's performance management status, existing problems and performance management strategies on the practical requirements, also combined with the analysis and research of a variety of performance evaluation methods and the methodology for determining the index weight, we developed new guiding ideology and basic framework of a performance management system and designed target-oriented system of key performance indicators for the company. We also established the basic processes and methods of evaluation of key performance indicators combined with a 360-degree evaluation procedure to fully reflect the performance of both sectors and individuals. Furthermore, we designed an efficient way of application of those performance evaluation programs and also provided suggestions on how to ensure the implementation of those programs. Our study is implicative for establishing efficient systems of human resource management for all the provincial Xinhua Bookstores by providing sample management of human resource in Hunan Xinhua Bookstore Co., Ltd.
