In a current market with competition being more and more aggravated, many enterprises want to expand their market by research and development of new products, which is aimed at reinforcing their competitive ability. And for manufacturing enterprise, the management of product R&D project is a process with integrated management and control which aim to optimize the object, target, content of the whole of project. Its connotation is:the project's target of quality, progress and cost could be finished by project planning and control from beginning to end. Facing the intense market competition, for gaining a larger share of the market as soon as possible, it is bound to strive for shortening production cycle and accelerating the speed of product coming into the market. So in order to found and solve the problems which are possibly in product design, for example, the realization of manufacture, the problems of module and technical standard, it is becoming special important that put the supplier development and choice into the product R&D period and implement in parallel with it. Supplier participate in product R&D project in its early stage can lead to the design problems'discovery and the related solution's offering as soon as possible, which is shortened the product cycle in practice, cut down the labor cost and manufacturing cost in essence. And because of this, the supplier has won the confidence of the customer– win-win side is achieved.In this thesis, XX product R&D project of MZ Company is introduced, and the research and conclusion about supplier development, evaluation & choice in product R&D stage are made also through studying the knowledge about project management. And the great importance for project progress control, project cost control, quality and risk control which are induced by supplier participation in project early stage are approved by introducing how & when begin the work about supplier development & choice in WBS and amount of record and analysis which out of weight analysis and progress control. The causal analysis chart is used for cost target analyzing, as while as formula and chart are used for quantitative analysis of new product cost price. In a word, it is indicated that the supplier participation in early stage is very important and beneficial to project its own through the analyzing and researching supplier management during project R&D period. And it has very high reference value to R&D project of new products in enterprises.
