Agricultural modernization is the only way to achieve a comprehensive modernization. Either in theory or from our country's economic construction and development needs, or from the experience of the agriculture development in developed countries, it is inevitable to develop from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture. As a basic section, agriculture needs to coordinate with other sections in our country's economic system.China is a big agriculture country, but it is not very strong. Still agriculture is a very weak section in our country's economic system. Today, "agriculture, countryside and peasants" problem is the vital problem in China. The difference of the income and wealth between farmers and workers, cities and countryside has been continually widening; agriculture products are relatively surplus. The increase of income for peasants is difficult and the burden is heavy day by day; the agricultural structure is duplicated and product quality and added value are low; the rural non-agricultural industry is undeveloped. It is beset with difficulties that the workforce shifts, etc. The 16th National Congress of Communist Party of China is proposed:"Building modern agriculture, developing rural economy, increasing peasant's income are the great tasks of building the well-off society in an all-round way". So carrying on China's agricultural modernization problem study has very important theory meaning and practical value. This paper summarizes the experience of the agriculture development at different stages of economic development in developed countries and compares China's agricultural modernization with developed countries'. By the method of comparative analysis, the author makes the disparity in every aspect of agriculture between China and other countries clear, and elaborates the problems and challenge with emphasis to which under new situation our country's agriculture faces. To quicken the realization of agricultural modernization in China, changing from extensive agriculture to intensive agriculture, changing from the concept of instability without food to the concept of food optimization, changing from the distributed breeding industry to integrating agriculture, changing from polluting agriculture to ecological agriculture and changing from taking charge of agriculture on the agriculture to rural industrialization were put forward as policy suggestions. |
