Now tourism is a flourishing industry in our country as a new growth point of economy. Being an important carrier of tourism, the Scenic Area of China has been functioned in economic and social advancement regionally.As a leading part in tour destinations, though has got great achievement in last years, the Scenic Area of China is confronted with many problems such as environment, administrativeness and exploiture, while competitiveness internationalizing is intense increasingly. How to enhance competitiveness is imperative to both protecting tourism resources and promoting upgrade.The contents of this thesis consist of totally two sections, including theoretical section and practical section. Based on the relevant theory of tourism competitiveness and existing research results, the theoretical section establishes the influencing factors of tourism competitiveness in Scenic Area and introduces the tourism competition evaluation index system to set up the measuring standard. Practical section involves two parts:part one compares and analyzes the two destinations-west Lake and East Lake Scenic Area from the following factors:the development conditions, industrial elements and development potential etc. Part two sets up the tourism competitiveness system of East Lake on the basis of competitiveness factors, the frame of competitiveness and the way to promote competitive ability.The main significance of this thesis is to a certain extent complementing the research on the tourism competitiveness of Scenic Area, discussing the influencing factors and setting up the tourism competitiveness system. Setting West Lake and East Lake as an example, combining qualitative and quantitative method, finally give some useful suggestions to East Lake Scenic Area.
