Gansu Daily Press Group Co., Ltd (GDPG) is a company centered on Gansu Daily, which is the apparatus's newspaper of the provincial Party Committee, with 13 types of affiliated newspaper (Lanzhou Morning News, West Business News, Gansu Economics News, to name just a few), Daily Gansu Website, and other industrial corporations such as Printing Service Center, Advertising Center and Property Management Office.Located in inland China, Gansu is an underdeveloped province with complicated geographic patterns. The percentage of logistics distribution cost in its provincial GDP is much higher than the average 16.7% of China, which has constituted a strategic problem in its economic development. GDPG, together with other provincial enterprises and institutions, is relatively low in terms of its theory and practice of distribution management and cannot compete with southeastern coastal areas and the developed countries. As a result, the distribution way of GDPG's newspapers cannot meet the needs of the development of the press market. The issue of distribution integration is facing GDPG, and the top priority is to analyze the functions of distribution and GDPG's current situation and to come up with an integrated logistics distribution scheme. This paper offers a detailed four-part description based on the approaches of logistics distribution integration and specific conditions of GDPG. The first part is a review of theories about logistics distribution, covering its concept, functions and integration approaches. The second part includes the analysis of GDPG's current situation and problems of its newspaper logistics distribution. The third part is concerned with the preparation of logistics distribution integration. And the fourth part provides an integrated scheme of logistics distribution based on both qualitative analysis and contrastive analysis.
