Faced with the China's objective situation of engineering cost management, meanwhile, the internationalization, the information and the network increasingly strengthened, more tasks of thermal power unit engineering have to be undertaken. the reform situation of " seperation of plant and grid, price bidding" needs us continue to strengthen the management, to improve the construction level of plant, and to reduce the cost of power engineering amain to gain the competitive advantage in price bidding after operation. Paper is based on China's existing engineering construction cost management theory, and combined with the construction practice of GD Power Datong Power Plant PhaseⅡexpansion of the second 2 x 600MW direct air-cooling unit. Through the objective analysis of engineering cost control in tender and contract management process of project, and in order to achieve the project cost management and control, paper proposes a practical ideas to control costs of the 600MW air-cooling unit in the tendering and contract management.
