In Chinese traditional agricultural society, land is the lifeblood of peasant is the most fundamental material conditions for supporting a peasant to survive. In archives of Hebei Province,"A compilation of archives of Qing dynasty about Huolu County"and"A compilation of archives of Republic of China about Huolu County"have recorded many raw files reflecting land property rights transfer of local peasant that have higher historical materials value.The paper, making use of archives of Huolu County, with the help of economics and law, multipurpose using historical, positive and comparative analysis of research methods, mainly has carried on the practical discursion and analysis from four aspects to land property rights transfer of peasant about Huolu County in the late Qing dynasty and Republic of China, as showing the real picture for the living land of peasant in central Hebei during this time.The introduction discusses the meaning of selected topic and related academic achievements. Research methods, subject, innovation and deficiencies of this article are also outlined.The first part of this article introduces surveys of land about Huolu County in the Qing dynasty, including the type of land occupied and the distribution of land property rights. It provides background for land property rights transfer about the late Qing dynasty and Republic of China.The second part introduces the whole process of conventional land sales from three aspects, including signing land contract, paying taxes and to exchange land and money. Land sales which is fulfilled with three stages marks the accomplishment of land property transfer.The third part studies the land property rights transfer in the perspective of land disputes. Land disputes will appear when peasant's rights are suffered losses because of the land property rights. This is the inevitable outcome of land property rights transfer. Ordinary villagers and the local right people adopt different attitudes and srtategies to land disputes, while relying on certain procedure.The fourth part describes that the railway purchases land, which is a new way of land property rights transfer. Since modern times, with the rise of railway, the railway purchased the land of peasants. The railway purchasing land with the traditional land sales will sign contract to complete the land property transfer, just differ in specific stage, and presests its own characteristics.The epilogue summarizes the land property rights transfer of peasants about Huolu county and the difference with two ways of specific stage, while land disputes are inevitable during the process of land property rights transfer. Last, the paper points out that archives of Huolu county containing rich content must be useful of the research of the North China countrysides.
