An Appraisal Study On The Competency Of College Counselors

This study with the college counselors for the object,adopt some psychological methods such as literature review,questionnaires and so on,do empirical research in practice with competency of college counselors.The required competences point of college counselors in china are identified and set up a function model of competency which is applied to the position of college counselors.Furthermore,the report evaluates the competence of college counselors in Ian zhou and shan dong university.This research includes two parts.In the first research,some literatures are reviewed and some college counselors and students are asked to answer the questionnaires.From these work,the competences items which are ordered one to seventeen are collected.Then,parts of college counselors are surveys using the inventories.By statistic method,the report decides the competence items that are 17 factors which combined into 7 categories,every competence has it's point value.In the second research,the competences of some college counselors in Ian zhou and shan dong university are assessed by the questionnaires.The research result is:the competences of the college counselors in Ian zhou and shan dong university are good.Among the 7 categories,quality degree is best;self-elements,solved problems and day-to-day management are good;service,blend ed group and conditioned behavior degree are worst.It is found in the result of difference analysis that when selecting and training college counselors,we should notice some special field.The research explores the way to establish the professional assessment system on college counselors.The research result provides the more objective and overall standard for competence system.we can evaluate the effect of training by the college counselors.The result of the second research gave some advice to the college counselors'work..
