Research Of International Engineering Corporation Capacity-building

In the international market of project consulting, EPC mode has become a popular way of engineering project management. From the viewpoint of EPC management mode, on the basis of a comparison between traditional engineering project management mode and EPC management mode, and an analysis on the current EPC management mode of electric power engineering projects in China as well as its advantages and disadvantages, this paper puts forward that a transition to engineering company is a fundamental way to success for major survey and design companies.This thesis makes a detailed study on the characteristics of international engineering company from two major aspects:the process of directly constructing EPC projects and the management of such projects. It takes a domestic engineering company as an example and conducts an analysis of the industrial features, domestic and overseas status quo as well as development trends of the electric power industry. It also carries out an analysis of the status quo of EPC management ability of the engineering company through SWOT method and points out a series of existing problems. Moreover, by the core ability theory this thesis proposes principles to be accepted and specific implementing measures on the EPC ability construction of engineering company. This study has offered some references to the construction of EPC ability in process of the transition from Design Company to engineering company in China.
