| Northern Engineering Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Construction Engineering Group, was founded in late2002. It is formerly known as the Third Construction Engineering Department of the Bureau of Railway Construction Engineering. This company has the first grade qualification for general contracting of house construction and the second grade qualification for contracting of construction waterproofing and prestressed engineering. It also has the qualification for renting construction machinery. The company has undertook construction projects across the Bohai Sea, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and many other important areas of China’s economic development.As a level3subsidiary of China Railway Corporation, the strategic development of Northern Engineering Co., Ltd. is typical and the study of it will offer considerable reference and guidance to the grassroots state-owned enterprises, especially to the development of construction enterprises.In the first part, this paper introduced the development process of Northern Engineering Co., Ltd., and elaborated the study thoughts, basic research methods, the significance of the research and the innovation points of it.The second part of this paper focused on the current development situation and existing problems of Northern Engineering Co., Ltd.. In this part, the author analyzed the situation and existing problems in the management of this company from the points of strategic planning, production management, organizational management, human resources, risk management etc. And the author has also made an in-depth analysis to the causes of these management problems.The third part mainly analyzed the internal and external development environment of the company. And with SWOT strategic analysis, the internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as the external opportunities and threats of Northern Engineering Co., Ltd. were pointed out. Based on the above, a feasibility development strategy was raised for this company. Besides, by benchmarking analysis with outstanding domestic enterprises, the author introduced the excellent management experience in their development process, and provided some references for the Northern Engineering Co.Ltd.’s further development.In the fourth part, through an in-depth analysis to further development, the paper proposed overall development goals for Northern Engineering Co., Ltd., meanwhile elaborated various sub-strategies, which emphasized building a mature enterprise management, and making the company core culture a guide, to achieve sustainable development of Northern Engineering Co., Ltd.. In the conclusion part, the paper summarized the main content, and also made some recommendations on next strategy implementation of Northern Engineering Co., Ltd.. |
