| As an important tourist source and destination, City is not only a center of transportation and consumption but also an important source of tourists for rural tourism. To research rural tourism from a perspective of geographical spatial structure will help to develop a better understanding of the relationship between the city and rural area, finding out the distribution of rural tourism which will help tourism stakeholders to make decisions. The analysis of space tourism structural elements could provide a strong basis for the researches in the characteristics of rural tourism products and cooperation between the spaces. Taking Shanghai as an example, this study discusses the temporal and spatial distribution and the characteristics of rural tourism market.GIS analysis software and Google map are used to explore the spatial and temporal structures of rural tourism attractions and transportation system. Rural tourism attractions and products for Two specific conclusions were revealed:(1) Shanghai Rural Tourism development stage and characteristics of spatial and temporal changes. Firstly, the development of Shanghai rural tourism can be divided into three stages; Shanghai rural tourist attractions every year the number was rapidly growing trend, especially from 2005 to 2008 the largest increase; secondly, the Eastern, Southern and rural blocks of Chongming Island have undergone a more rapid tourism development; (2) Shanghai rural tourist attractions and distribution characteristics of spatial form. Shanghai Rural tourist attractions are the spatial agglomeration patterns; spatial distribution of the major suburbs and outer suburbs by the two regional compositions, distribution of outer suburbs is more concentrated. Area from the southern suburb of Hangzhou Bay in the western suburbs and the northern island area composed of three main blocks; (3) Shanghai rural tourist attractions characteristics of distance changes. Space tourist attractions in Shanghai from the countryside into a normal distribution, to anti-decay; Shanghai distribution of rural tourist attractions there are two circle:that is 30km away from the center of travel within the suburban ring and the outer suburbs within 60km tourist circle; main attractions focus away from the city center within 20-60km, and 40km from the city center around rural tourist attractions in Shanghai intensive band; (4) Shanghai Rural Tourism structural characteristics of the type of product. Judging from the quantity, sightseeing, holiday type and festival-based rural tourism products in order of priority; Judging from the special distribution, lots products for sightseeing lies in the north bank of Hangzhou Bay-the southern area of region rural tourism, and most products in the western rural outskirts are resorting type, and the products in the northern part of Chongming Island Area are characterized by the resorting and festival flavor. Despite its variety Shanghai rural tourism are still are unevenly distributed in space and time.Spatial structure of rural tourism traffic areas were:(1) from the transport network side, Shanghai rural tourism transportation network connectivity in the middle level, and has not formed a more dense network of tourist traffic yet; (2) from the transport distance side, the transport distance of downtown attractions for the self-drive tourists concentrated in the 30-80km range from the city center; the transport distance for public transportation users concentrated in the 20-80km range from the city center attractions; (3) from the travel time side, since the drive form, from the city central to the spots, the starting time for most of the traffic within 1 hour, accounting for 83.6% of the total.By combining the research results before and further comprehensive analysis, researching results for the Rural Tourism Market characteristics are conclude as:(1) Rural Tourism tourist traveling time match the ideal time; (2) The special and temporal structure of tourists flow distribute unevenly; (3) Taking city as a center, the spatial distribution of consumption spaces of rural tourists showed a concentric distribution, raging in the 30-80km distances; there shows no significant relationship between visiting rate and the distances; Spatial distribution of Shanghai rural tourism attractions coincide with the regular pattern of spatial behavior of rural tourism tourists. |
