Research On The Social Security Problems Of Land-lost Farmers In China

With the fast process of urbanization and industrialization in our country, more and more land resources especially of the farmland resources are confiscated, and a lot of farmers are compelled to leave their land which they live on. Because of the social security system in our country has obvious characteristic of urban-rural dual structure, urban residents have higher levels of social security and a more comprehensive social welfare, while farmers have been largely excluded from formal social security system. Land-lost farmers face a series of problems including how to lead a life after getting old, health care, reemployment and so on. Many land-lost farmers are reduced into urban poor people, which will inevitably influence the social stabilization and hamper the construction of the harmonious society. At present our country academic circle is paying more attention to the city social security problems than to the countryside social security including the land-lost farmers' social security. Therefore, it is significant to solve the problems of farmers' social security, which can protect their interest and strengthen the social stability, achieve the coordinated urban and rural development as a whole aiming to building the harmonious society.Based on social security economic theory, by adopting comparative analysis, theoretic and factual analysis, this thesis analyzes the current situation, existing problems and their causes. Meantime, by taking advantage of the practice and experience in solving problems concerning land-lost farmers' social security in both developed countries and some developed areas in our country, this thesis puts forward the policy orientation to perfect the social security of land-lost fanners, and gives a framework for the social security system of land-lost farmers.This thesis consists of six parts: the first part is an introduction, which illustrates the background, goal and significance of this research, also sorting out both the domestic and foreign research in this field, followed by the elaboration on the logic and the main content of this paper, as well as its innovation. The second part elaborates on the definition of social security and its economic theories, providing a theoretical basis for building land-lost farmers' social security. The third part analyzes the current situation, existing problems and their causes. The forth part makes an introduction into developed countries' experience in coping with the social security related to land-lost farmers and the enlightenments to our country. The fifth part introduces several patterns of some' social security systems related to land-lost farmers existing in developed areas of China. The last part puts forward the policy orientation as well as the basic framework under which the social security system for the land-lost farmers should be built.
