Recently, intern programs are blooming among multinational corporations, and growing to be an integral part of their global strategies of talent, where the word"intern"has been developed beyond what it meant before and is turning to be the potential reservation of a company. The trainings provided for the interns play an extremely important role in the program. This thesis is a case study on the intern training of a multinational company. Based on the theories of training, learning and instructional design, the thesis makes analysis and improvement on the case, exploring how it works in true situation, so that facilitates further study and practice.A is global network providing professional service of high quality. To maintain the leadership in fierce competition, it is always engaged in seeking and fostering the talent, and the intern program is becoming an important way to do this. As a crucial part of A's intern program, intern training means a lot to the success of the whole project. This research first identifies the success and problems in the training via on-site visit, survey and interviews and analyzes the underlying causes from the perspective of analysis, design, implementation and evaluation. Then it puts forth counter-measures for the problems and further a new training plan. The feasibility of the proposed training program is then analyzed and tested on the basis of the feedback from the training participants. To sum up, the thesis examines how to guarantee the success of intern training on the organizational level. It is concluded that only by integrating the measures on the organizational level and the training package itself, can the training be brought into full play.The thesis is composed of six parts. The first part includes background, meaning and methods of the thesis, and makes a review of related research. The second part introduces the theories of training, learning and instructional design as foundation of the research. The third part introduces the case, analyzes its success and problems and puts forward counter-measures for the problems. The fourth part proposes a whole training plan based on the frame of the enriched Smith-Regan model. The fifth part explains the results of the test on the new plan, and point out the direction for further study. The last part generalizes how to guarantee the success of the intern training on the organizational level, points out the limitations of the research and makes suggestions for the future study of intern training.
